I loved this story even before Margaret grew such long eyelashes. I too, saw the resemblance to Johnnie Depp, thanks to the author's good eye. The book is funny and I had the privilege of seeing it in its early stages. Great fun!
Looking forward to seeing and reading the finished product!

Hey Marsha,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and telling us the story behind the book. It is really funny that you actually named a dog after my mom. Can't wait to get it!

Mrs. Tennant is our teacher. She has read the book to us. We really enjoyed it. The illustrations are awesome. We still don't like to write that much but we try!
Wishing you the best with creative writing, and your work with children that so much need the understanding. Dogs and pirates...a wonderful combination.

Grammie and I read Margaret a lot. My favorite part is when the pirates fight. I like the pictures of the little dogs too. They are so cute. I like how the little girl dog "rounded up" (tied up) that bigger dog, and how Margaret is getting ready to fight that bad Captain dog, and Mad Maverick on the cannon. I'm six years old now.

What a wonderful story. My daughter loved the copy we borrowed so I ordered one from Amazon.com. The illustrations are beautiful and the storyline is engaging. Who could ask for anything more?
